Simply put? The attitude of 'boohoo for men struggling' proves that the same women who proclaim they want to be treated equally don't want pity or sympathy to be extended to men who struggle.
If that's the case, all things being equal, why should women be allowed the same voice to demand sympathy or pity?
If a woman cries out, everyone hears.
If a man cries out, everyone ignores.
That's what that phrase reads like to me and probably many men in the modern society we hold today.
